This update was posted on 8/4/2022. It contains our most current lodging and guiding policies for 2022.
LODGING POLICIES
Our plan is to continue offering just group lodging for 2022. We will rent both our buildings – The Guide’s House and The Climber’s Lodge – to self-contained groups/families only. We will not offer any meals. For smaller groups and families, or for longer stays, we will offer reduced rates. Call us to discuss – 518-576-2041.
Because we live next-door, we can talk with our guests outside and answer questions/give advice as needed – especially regarding excellent hiking, climbing, paddling, swimming and skiing options.
Reservations can be made online for one or both buildings. We now have a 3 night minimum for all new bookings (except for the months of May and June). We sometimes are lenient on this requirement (weekdays etc.) so call to discuss. Our # is 518-576-2041.
For those seeking further information, our rates and building descriptions can be found under the Lodging – Group Rentals section of our website – or simply call us!
Availability for Summer of 2022
For September, the Guide’s House has an opening for the entire week – 9/15 through 9/22 (3 night minimum required).
For October, the Climber’s Lodge has a 3 night opening beginning with the night of 10/17. The Guide’s House and the Climber’s Lodge are available from the night of Tuesday, 10/25 through the rest of October…
We are closed for November…
Special News!
Both buildings have openings for Christmas week for 2022. Call for details!
GUIDING POLICIES
Because all our guides are vaccinated, we will be providing rock and ice guiding through our Private Guiding program to individuals as well as small, self-contained groups such as families and/or friends, year-round. We will continue to offer Group Guiding to institutional groups… They may have to break up into two groups if more than 6 clients, especially during weekends/busy periods. This is the direction climbing is headed in the Adirondacks and is simply the responsible thing to do…We will continue to offer hiking guiding as always…
In order to make the guiding experience as safe as possible, we’ll need to vary from our previous guiding procedures in several minor ways. These include:
- Clients will need to wear masks while getting geared up indoors
- Clients will need to provide their own transportation thus driving separately from their guide
- Clients will need to provide their own lunches, snacks and fluids
- All clients must be vaccinated and boosted through 2022 (unless under 12 years old or having a legitimate medical reason).
For more information regarding rates and further guiding details, look under the guiding section on our website. To book a guide or ask questions, please call 518-576-2041…
