A Quiet, Wilderness Experience…
Our campground evolved out of necessity. While the region has numerous lodging offerings available, decent camping options are somewhat limited. With this in mind, we have developed two small to mid-sized camping areas on our grounds – The Meadow Campsite and the Mountainview Leanto. Because we are a family run operation, we strive to maintain a relatively quiet campground inhabited by mature, responsible, outdoor enthusiasts/groups…
Mountainview involves a steep ten minute hike up a small mountain to a stunning lean-to site. Several tenting spots, a picnic table, fire place, an outhouse and small mountain stream complete the area. Water can be filtered from the stream or carried up from the Meadow’s water spigot below. Backpacks and pre-planning make sense in order to efficiently pack into this site. A wilderness feel and stellar view of Giant Mountain will be enjoyed here…
The Meadow is a one minute walk from the parking lot but hidden in a quiet section of the forest. It consists of a small, grassy area with room for several tents in the field and surrounding woods. Two covered picnic tables (great if it rains), a fire pit, water spiget and an outhouse complete the site. Note that the trail to the Mountainview Leanto does pass through this site. Expect morning shade when camping here…
We rent each of our above mentioned sites as a whole, thus whether you are a group or just one individual, you will be the only one/ones in that particular area. Bare in mind that for larger, institutional groups (more than 6), we will only rent to groups that are using our guiding services…Our rates are $20 for the first person and $5 for each additional person per area. This includes all taxes and fees. Reservations can only be made by phone…518-576-2041. Unless guiding with us, we require a 2 night minimum stay during weekends.
