Adirondack Rock and River
Thank you for accessing the web site of Adirondack Rock and River Guide Service and Lodges!
Rock and River is a family run lodging and guiding business open to all outdoor lovers, year-round. We’ve been in operation since 1988 and are located in the heart of the Adirondack High Peaks, on the outskirts of the small mountain village of Keene, N.Y.
The unique lodging at Rock and River consists of two Adirondack style buildings – The Guide’s House (sleeps 14) and The Climber’s Lodge (sleeps 12). Both buildings are located on our property which sits in a quiet mountain valley at the end of a country road. Open fields and mountain views surround each building with the gardens and apple trees of the original 1800s homestead, evident. Both lodges are rented by the whole (we no longer rent individual rooms) and make a perfect basecamp for families, clubs, schools and friends. The facilities are very secluded and surrounded by thousands of acres of state-owned wilderness. Excellent hiking, skiing, rock and ice climbing can be accessed, right from our door! The guide service at Rock and River is the largest and most renowned within the region. Guided disciplines include rock climbing, ice climbing, hiking, slide climbing and snowshoeing. Only the best area guides (see guide resumes) are employed, all of whom are licensed professionals that enjoy working with people and know the region intimately. Rock and River’s supporting facilities are unmatched and include an indoor rock wall as well as our own private ice climbing park. Besides private guiding, we offer small group guiding to institutional organizations (clubs, schools, camps etc.) as well as to friends and families wishing to learn as a group.

We offer both Lodging and Guiding Gift Certificates. Call us to get one e-mailed (or sent in the mail) today!
