Winter Mountaineering
The Adirondack peaks in winter are spectacular, and with proper gear, skills and attitude, just about anybody can enjoy this unique environment. From trailed summit hikes/snowshoes to technical slide climbs, the Adirondacks offer a wide variety of mountaineering challenges. Always unpredictable with conditions ranging from mild and tranquil to arctic and raging, the Adirondack backcountry serves as a tremendous training ground for those pursuing expeditionary ascents.
Our winter
guiding takes place on the same peaks and slides as our summer program with guided ascents of the
Trap Dyke and the North Face of Gothics being the most
popular. Private Guiding rates apply with a surcharge for more involved, extended outings. Call for more information!
Our Winter Mountaineering program is ideal for;
- individuals seeking a guided winter hike or snowshoe
- winter hikers ready to go off trail and attempt a technical slide climb (may need a day of training depending on the objective)
- individuals training for larger peaks/expeditions and need a “tuneup”
