Lodging

Our unique year round lodging is available to all outdoor enthusiasts, not just our guided clients. Consisting of two Adirondack style lodges, a streamside lean-to, wide open fields and stunning mountain views, Rock and River's 1800's homestead is an experience, not just a night's lodging. Situated in a secluded valley at the end of a country road and bordered by park wilderness on three sides, activities such as hiking, skiing, rock climbing and mountain biking are available, all from our doorstep. For skiing enthusiasts, we are fortunate to be located at the start of the Jackrabbit ski trail, a thirty mile path that winds its way through some of the Adirondack's most striking terrain and for rock climbers the always enjoyable Bark Eater cliffs are just a short hike from our lodges.

Various options are available to both individuals and groups (see lodging rates) in our two buildings. The Climber's Lodge was built in 1990 from the original homestead's barn and has three private rooms, a bunkroom (sleeps six), an indoor climbing wall, a central living room complete with a great stone fireplace, a kitchen and down by our stream, a secluded lean-to. This building sleeps twelve and is strictly a group rental facility.

The Guide's House was built in 1992 with a two room addition (deluxe, family sized rooms) added in 2001. This building has six rooms, several decks, a large dining room and houses the gear and classrooms used in our guiding operation. It sleeps up to fifteen and can be rented as a whole, by the individual room, or in combination with the Climber's Lodge. Our breakfasts are hearty buffets of home baked goods, fresh fruits, cereals etc. and trail lunches are available. Wedding as well as special events can be arranged.
